Wood is one of the oldest and most commonly used materials in general, which is of course no exception in the Tatras. Since ancient times, our great-grandparents knew its useful properties and knew how to use it either to help themselves with everyday products, or those with an aesthetic sense to make their homes more comfortable with artistic objects.
Nowadays, carving and its products enjoy great popularity again, which inspired us to beautify the surroundings of the Grand Hotel Permon**** with sculptures of animals. On the newly built path, which can be found under the ramp - on the right side below the entrance to the hotel, you will find a series of wooden sculptures of animals typical for the Tatra climate: chamois, bear, fox, wolf, lynx, marmot or snake.
These works of art are the "conscience" of an artistic carver with golden hands, who can really carve anything out of wood. The result is incredibly beautiful.
If one is surrounded by beautiful nature, there is no shortage of muse and themes, which is nicely reflected in the result of the creations, which are proof of this.
For his works of art, the carver used mostly waste wood from poplar and fir trees; one sculpture weighs between 40 and 150 kg, depending on its size. The production of one such wooden splendour took approximately one week, which is of course individual depending on the complexity and size of the sculpture.
So as not to be just ordinary wood sculptures, Mr. Kačica adds not only a piece of nature, but also a piece of heart to his artistic creations.
